Breakfast Roundtable

POSTPONED

Thank you for your interest. The safety of our attendees is paramount. As a result of the situation surrounding Covid-19, this event has now been postponed. New dates will be announced on our website shortly. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and if you’d like to request rescheduling information, please contact [email protected].

About the event

Last year was one of tremendous change for the EU.

Changes in regulations and structural shifts have had an impact on investor sentiment and decision-making, which in turn has had a huge impact on IR programs.

To help make sense of all this, we’re excited to partner with Q4 to make this event possible. We’re bringing together heads of IR and experts to assess how these changes are impacting IR programs in 2020, and what IROs can do to strengthen their team in the coming year.

The five trends we will discuss are:

  • Impact of Covid-19
  • Buy-side corporate access
  • Targeting
  • ESG investing
  • Benchmarking IR performance

How do our roundtable discussions work?

This is an invitation-only event exclusively for senior IROs. It is free to attend and our unique format enables participants to network, discuss and debate issues affecting shareholder communications.

It is far removed from the traditional conference set-up. Small groups of IROs discuss the above listed issues. Each table gives feedback from its own discussion and shares ideas with the group as a whole – all while enjoying a fantastic breakfast at the Admiral Hotel.

The four trends we will discuss in detail are:

Buy-side corporate access: We’ll dig into one of the largest changes in the market, the movement of the corporate access function from the sell-side to the buy-side. Explore what this means for IR, how this changes how the buy-side and issuers work together and how, you, as the head of IR can successfully adapt.

Targeting: With IR teams getting increasingly busy, where should you focus your targeting efforts in 2020? What are the different approaches to discovering and then targeting new investors to increase your global investor base? In this section, we’ll discuss efficient approaches to shareholder analysis, finding the right portfolio managers and then how to get them interested in your company.

ESG investing: We will discuss how to identify the ESG-guided actions of institutional funds as many more mainstream investors integrate ESG into their investment process. We will look at ways of understanding how ESG investors and rating agencies use data, and whether additional disclosure could improve demand for your equity.

Benchmarking IR programs: With the changing nature of corporate access and IR budgets shrinking in Europe, how are IR programs adapting their objectives? How do you demonstrate the value of IR internally, get buy-in from senior management and measure performance? We will discuss team structures, reporting lines, budgets and meeting frequency, and benchmark these against your peers in the room. We’ll conclude with what IR success means to you and how it differs from what IR success means to your C-suite and the board.
