Kate Scolnick is Chief Financial Officer at Owlet, a high-growth digital health company providing wellness and home healthcare solutions for parents. Ms. Scolnick has three decades of corporate financial management and investor relations experience from her finance roles within the global technology sector at companies including Anaplan, Seagate Technology, Intel, McAfee and EMC. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and attended Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Executive Program. Previously she enjoyed serving as a board member of NIRI Silicon Valley.

As Investor Relations Director at Zillow Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: Z and ZG), Mary Ellen leads the day-to-day operations of the company’s Investor Relations function.  She joined the company in 2020 and brings more than 25 years of experience in the Investor Relations profession ranging from small- to industry leading large-cap public companies, as well as private equity.  Most recently, Mary Ellen was Director, Investor Relations at Privateer Holdings, a Seattle-based private equity firm that developed multiple world-leading brands (Nasdaq: TLRY and LFLY).  Prior to that time Mary Ellen served in a variety of roles helping to lead the Investor Relations function at Starbucks Coffee Company (Nasdaq: SBUX) for more than 18 years. Mary Ellen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance (Cum Laude) and a minor in French from Western Washington University.

Roger Mortimer is a portfolio manager at Krane Shares focused on the energy transition. He has been a global equity manager for more than 20 years and formerly a Global Partner at AMVESCAP (now Invesco) and a partner and shareholder at Capital Group Companies.

Elliott is a Portfolio Manager for Woodline Partners. Previously, Elliott served as Portfolio Manager in San Francisco for Balyasny Asset Management beginning in 2018. Prior to Balyasny, Elliott worked as Portfolio Manager at Citadel, having joined as a Senior Associate in 2009. Prior to Citadel, he worked at SAC Capital Advisors as an Analyst covering the software sector. Elliott began his career in equity research. He worked as an associate covering software at Bank of America from 2003-2005. Elliott graduated with High Distinction from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Ryan Steelberg is a seasoned technology executive and pioneer of digital and data-driven businesses. He is currently the Co-Founder, President, and CEO of Veritone, Inc., a leading AI software and services company, public on NASDAQ. He also serves on its Board of Directors. Previously, he served as the President of Veritone, from 2015 to 2022. Prior to Veritone, Mr. Steelberg served as Chief Executive Officer of Brand Affinity Technologies, Inc. Prior to that, he served as the Head of Broadcast at Google Inc. From 2002 to 2007, he was the Co-Founder and President of dMarc Broadcasting, an advertising technology company that was acquired by Google Inc. in 2006. From 1998 to 2000, he served as President and CEO of 2CAN Media, a company that was acquired by CMGi. From 1995 to 1998 he served as President of AdForce, a company that was also acquired by CMGi in September of 1999, after its IPO earlier that year.

Catherine leads Investor Relations, Sustainability and ESG Reporting at Asana. Her role at Asana punctuates the developing landscape of Finance and ESG. Measuring and reporting progress in ESG will drive measurable outcomes and provide transparency to all stakeholders, from customers to employees to investors. This promotes trust, supports long term business growth and can elevate a company’s valuation.

Having started her career in investment banking, she has spent over 25 years helping companies maximize valuation during critical junctures, including acquisitions, turnarounds and IPO’s. She’s widely known across tech investing for her role in launching high profile IPO’s including Asana, Lyft, Docusign, Okta, AppDynamics, Ariba and many others. At Asana, she works to elevate their market valuation by enhancing their brand around trust, mitigating perceived risks and helping to drive revenue, with a proactive, transparent and comprehensive ESG strategy.

Catherine has long been involved in leading Economic Development organizations such as Philippine Development Foundation, where she served as President, and other humanitarian aid efforts such as the American Red Cross. She earned a BA in Economics from Stanford University.

Lori is the Director of Research and Portfolio Manager of the Parnassus Mid Cap Fund, with responsibility for portfolio management for the firm’s Mid Cap strategy. She joined Parnassus in 2005 after serving as a Parnassus research intern. Through her work as a long-term investor, she has developed deep expertise in sectors such as the information technologies and consumer and in corporate governance, executive compensation and other ESG related topics.

Prior to her focus on socially responsible investing, Lori worked as a Vice President of Investment Banking at Deloitte and Touche Corporate Finance LLC and was a Senior Associate in Robertson Stephen & Company’s investment banking division. Prior to her banking experience, Lori worked at Ernst & Young Management Consulting as a Senior Manager, where she focused on working with clients to develop their business strategy, enhance their capital allocation strategies, and implement strategic changes.

Lori holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband and three children.

Erik Carlson is chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Notified, a technology partner for investor relations, public relations and marketing professionals. He brings over 10 years of M&A, strategic finance and business transformation experience across private equity portfolio companies in technology, media, pharmaceuticals and consumer products. Prior to Notified, he was senior vice president of M&A integration at Intrado and director of M&A and strategy advisory at PwC.

Joanne Medero was until July 2020 a Managing Director at BlackRock, a large diversified asset manager where she was member of their Global Public Policy Group and a Senior Advisor to the Vice Chairman on the intersection of public policy and corporate governance. In June 2021, Ms. Medero was appointed a director/trustee of the Nuveen Funds, a fund complex that includes open-end and closed end funds and ETFs.

Ms. Medero’s service with BlackRock dates back to 1996, including her years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. Ms. Medero joined BGI as its Global General Counsel and after more than ten years in that role, became the global head of Government Relations and Public Policy for Barclays’ investment banking and investment management businesses. Prior to joining BGI, Ms. Medero was a partner with Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe specializing in derivatives and market regulation issues. Ms. Medero also served as general counsel of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (1989-1993) and as an associate director for legal and financial affairs at the Office of Presidential Personnel, The White House, from 1986 to 1989.

Ms. Medero earned a BA degree from St. Lawrence University in 1975 and a JD degree from the National Law Center of George Washington University in 1978.

Steve joined The Honest Company in 2022 to lead Investor Relations, following the company’s initial public offering in the prior year. Prior to Honest, Steve started his finance career at The Clorox Company, working with many of the top consumer brands in the world, such as Clorox, Glad, Kingsford, Hidden Valley Ranch, Burt’s Bees, Brita and others. After several financial leadership positions, Steve led the company’s investor relations efforts for 20 years. During his leadership, the Clorox IR team was recognized as #1 in its sector several times (Institutional Investor magazine), introduced 4 CEOs and 5 CFOs to the investment community, planned and executed 10 investor days, and successfully fended off an activist investor campaign. On average, the company attended 4 investor conferences and hosted 200 investor meetings a year. Following Clorox, Steve led the investor relations program at Gap, Inc. representing the Old Navy, Gap, Athleta, and Banana Republic brands. While at Gap, Steve planned and executed the company’s first investor day in over five years, which led to an approximate 70% increase in the stock price within the next year. Steve has been a member of NIRI for over 20 years and earned a B.A. degree in Finance from The University of Washington.

Samuel (Sam) Wilson serves as interim Chief Executive Officer of 8×8. Sam brings more than 25 years of experience in financial analysis, investment management and sales to drive 8×8’s business forward. Having held multiple leadership positions with the company, Sam possesses in-depth knowledge of the growth and expense drivers of the business.

Most recently, Sam served as 8×8’s Chief Financial Officer, responsible for leading the company’s financial strategy and overseeing the Company’s accounting and financial reporting, planning, tax and treasury functions, as well as investments in 8×8’s SaaS platform and future growth.

Prior to his role as CFO, Sam served as 8×8’s Chief Customer Officer, where he managed the complete customer lifecycle globally, including professional services, implementation, customer support and the enablement teams. He previously managed 8×8’s strategic business initiatives and expansion into the UK and Europe, in addition to his role as 8×8’s SVP for the global small business, eCommerce and US mid-market sales.

Sam joined 8×8 in 2017 from MobileIron where he was instrumental in taking the company public and part of the team that grew annual billings from $26 million to $200 million, including building and leading their eCommerce business. Prior to MobileIron, he spent 14 years in technology banking, both as an analyst covering communications and as an institutional investor. He is an internationally recognized financial expert, Chartered Financial Analyst and former top-rated Wall Street analyst.

Sam is also a veteran, having served in the US Army. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Seattle University and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Jill Sawyer is the Head of Investor Relations for Prologis and is based in San Francisco. Her primary focus is to ensure that the company’s strategy, performance, and competitive edge is well understood by the investor community and Wall Street analysts with the objective of obtaining a fair relative valuation. Jill joined the company’s IR team in 2019 and was promoted to lead the team in early 2022.
Prior to joining Prologis, Jill spent 5 years as an associate analyst on the Citi REIT research team in New York covering the office and industrial sectors, helping the team to achieve the #1 Institutional Investor ranking for several consecutive years. Prior to this, she worked as an associate covering mortgage REITs at MLV & Co., as well as worked in global banking at Santander Bank, with a focus on commercial real estate. Jill holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a concentration in finance.”

Mark Fasken is the co-founder and COO of Irwin, a capital markets software company building a better way to manage investor relations. As COO, Mark works daily with global capital markets professionals at public companies, advisory firms, and investment banks to ensure Irwin’s platform helps them achieve their IR goals.

Before Irwin, Mark spent nearly a decade in sales and marketing at high-growth software companies. He led a highly skilled sales team at Influitive that directly supported the company’s rapid revenue growth to $10M ARR+. As Pressly’s former VP of Sales, Mark helped build the sales and marketing team leading up to its acquisition by Vision Critical.

Mark is Vice-Chair of the NIRI 2023 Annual Conference Committee, leading planning for the world’s largest gathering of investor relations professionals. He is passionate about expanding the education and resources available to IROs, to deliver insight and support that will help inform strategic decisions and success.

Uma Moriarity is the Senior Investment Strategist and Global ESG Lead for CenterSquare Investment Management. She focuses on investment strategy across the Firm’s public and private real estate investment platforms, is an active thought leader for the Firm, and is part of the listed real estate investment team. Additionally, she leads the Firm’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy to incorporate ESG into the decision-making and management of listed and private real estate investments to create long-term value, reduce risk, and generate superior risk-adjusted investment returns. Prior to joining CenterSquare, she spent three years in corporate strategy and planning at ExxonMobil in Houston. Uma graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with Interdisciplinary Honors and High Distinction and holds a B.S. in Finance with a minor in International Business, B.S. in Accounting, and Master of Accountancy. She is a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA Institute, a LEED Green Associate, and a member of the ULI San Francisco Young Leaders Group Steering Committee and Sustainability Committee. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Green Building United and the Penn State Smeal Sustainability Advisory Board.

Steve Wade is a content researcher and conference producer at IR Magazine where he is responsible for crowd-sourcing intelligence on the big global issues facing investor relations. Steve also creates events where the IROs and the wider financial community can discuss, debate and learn about ways to develop the IR function.

Prior to IR Magazine, Steven’s background has been in corporate social responsibility and responsible investment. During his time at Ethical Corporation (now Reuters Events), Steve launched the ESG symposium, an event focused on connecting the socially responsible investment community with corporate sustainability leaders at listed companies. Steve was a judge for the Deloitte Green Frog Awards, celebrating the best corporate reporting in Eastern Europe. Steve also presented research at the Global Sustainable Event Summit in London and has spoken about extra-financial reporting with the United Nations Global Compact, the World Bank and the Polish Ministry of Finance.

Steve has a degree in Event Management and enjoys playing rugby in his spare time.

Lauren McDonald is a conference producer at IR Magazine and Corporate Secretary. She brings a wealth of experience from her past roles in campaign organising for The Labour Party in Leeds and Tower Hamlets.

Lauren holds a Masters degree in the History of Race & Resistance and a Bachelors degree in American History & Politics, both from prestigious universities. She uses her expertise and knowledge to inform her current work and ensure high quality outcomes.

In her free time, Lauren is actively involved in a number of charitable causes. She has volunteered with the Girl Guides, the Los Angeles LGBT Center, and regularly donates her time to political campaigns in and around London.
