About the forum

Moving UP in the new normal:

Building on the success of our Women in IR campaign from the last three years, we’ve launched our very first Equality in IR forum – part of our global initiative aimed at creating a level playing field for excellence in the IR community. In 2020 we’ve expanded our discussion to welcome professionals of all genders, ethnicity, age, religion and sexual orientation to better reflect the IR community we serve.

With the help of expert speakers and those leading the charge at public companies, we held a morning of extensive debates, hands-on mentoring sessions and practical advice on how to build a more inclusive IR community at a professional level, while on a personal level we covered how to negotiate new responsibilities and move up the ladder.


An interactive, virtual experience connecting you to experts from across the globe

Far removed from a traditional webinar format, our virtual event platform allowed attendees to:

  • Hear from those leading the charge globally on how companies can and should affect change
  • Join mentoring sessions to receive tailored guidance on key aspects of career progression
  • Hear from successful heads of IR & CFOs on negotiating new responsibilities in a new normal
  • Participate in group chat and speaker Q&A to share personal experiences and seek advice
  • Have one on one private video meetings with fellow IR professionals to build your network

We also had a special guest speaker to help us navigate these trying times as an IRO. He explored how to differentiate between good stress and bad stress, and how to find that balance when you’re rocking the boat.

Mentoring sessions: Our mentoring sessions were back by popular demand, but this time they were virtual! Following its overwhelming success in 2019, we offered attendees a range of sessions with some of the most senior and experienced figures in the IR community to help mentor and advise the talent of tomorrow.
